Monday (two days ago) was Halloween. It wasn't Rylee's first Halloween, but since she was only 4 months old last Halloween, we never dressed her up or took her out to do anything. So, this year was her first "real" Halloween experience. My mom found a ladybug costume for her at a yard sale a few months ago, and it fit her perfectly (thanks, Mom!). Thankfully, she didn't mind wearing it, although she wasn't too fond of having the hooded part over her head.
Our church had a free Halloween festival called "Light the Night with Jesus", so Jordan and I took Rylee to enjoy some family fun and get some candy. Our Sunday school class hosted one of the games there, so I sat by it for a while to help greet kids and hand out candy while Jordan walked around with Rylee. Later in the evening, we rode on the hayride together. I was nervous that Rylee would get scared, but she actually seemed to really enjoy it. She just sat in Jordan's lap and looked around, and anytime we would say, "Rylee, are you having fun? Say 'Wee!'", she would say "Wee!". It was cute. We all had an enjoyable night and were thankful to get to spend the time together as a family.
Here are some pictures of Rylee in her costume. The first three pictures were taken by one of the women we go to church with when we first got to the festival, and I took the rest of the pictures when we got home. They're not the best pictures in the world (we could never really get her to stay still, look at us, and smile), but they're better than nothing.
Isn't she the cutest little ladybug you've ever seen?! I sure do love her!
